Privacy Policy

WhoWeMet is a personal keepsake for the people you meet: you take a selfie together, swap contact info in a tap, and keep it as a memory. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the control you have over it. We don't sell your personal information.
Information you give us
Account: your email address (to sign in) and the display name and card details you choose to share (such as a title, company, location, a short message, and a profile photo).
Your meetings: the selfies you take, the contact details you and the other person choose to exchange, any notes or labels you add, and — only if you allow location — the place where a meeting happened.
Information collected automatically
A device identifier used to send you notifications (for example, when someone you've met updates their card), and basic technical data needed to operate and secure the service.
How we use it
To provide the app: store your memories, let you exchange cards, show your meetings on a map, and send notifications you've opted into. We use it to keep the service secure and to respond to support and safety reports. We do not use it for third-party advertising.
How it's shared
The card details you mark as shared are visible to the people you exchange with; connect-only details unlock only once you're connected. We use Supabase (our hosting and database provider, in the United States) to store and process data on our behalf. We disclose information if required by law or to protect people's safety.
Your choices and rights
You can edit your card and profile anytime. You can block people and report abuse from inside the app. You can delete your account and all of your data at any time in Settings → Delete account; this permanently erases your profile, cards, contacts, photos, notes, and places. Photos another person took with you belong to them and remain in their own account, but your shared card stops working once your account is gone.
Data retention
We keep your data while your account is active. Deleted items sit in a recently-deleted area for about 30 days before permanent erasure; deleting your account erases everything without that delay.
Children
WhoWeMet is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Security
We use industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit and access controls, to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep yours safe.
